When sweet summertime arrives don't you want to just kick-off your shoes and spend every day barefoot and carefree? Fortunately, for those occasions that do call for shoes, the Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale has really cute sandals at a really great discount. I also pulled some favorites for the little mini in your life! But hurry, this sale only lasts through June 4th!!
I was scrolling through Pinterest the other day when I came across the work of an artist by the name of Donald Robertson. I immediately fell in the love with his free-hand illustrations that evoke a bit of colorful whimsy.
After some research I learned that Robertson is recognized as a professional not in art, but in the world of beauty. The illustrator has been working for Estee Lauder for years, most recently serving as Bobbi Brown's head of creative development.
It was only three years ago that Donald Robertson decided to 'reinvent' himself as 'Drawbertson' on Instagram, showcasing the whimsical freehand illustrations that his socialite and beauty maven friends had been commissioning for their Upper East Side town homes for years.
According to a June 10th 2015 New York Times article, "Mr. Robertson set out to be a fashion illustrator as a young man in the early 1980's, moving from his native Canada to Paris only to find there weren't enough opportunities to earn a living. So he's as surprised as anyone to now find himself collaborating with J.Crew on a line of T-shirts bearing his work, or "art bombing" (his term) Bergdorf Goodman's women's and men's stores on Fifth Avenue with messy, cheeky drawings of the fashion world and it's icons."
If you follow the some of the same accounts on Instagram that I do, i.e. Miroslava Duma, Into The Gloss, Man Repeller, etc., then you probably noticed the recent influx of #LVCruise posts on Wednesday afternoon. To refresh your memory, the images featured The Parker Palm Springs as a backdrop to the coveted LV monogram and Epi leather envelopes that held handwritten invitations to Louis Vuitton's 2016 Women's Cruise Collection.
The Instagram takeover was the brainchild of Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière who used some of the world's most famous models, socialites and fashion bloggers as a platform to give the rest of us a behind the scenes look at the Women's Cruise 2016 show.
The show took place on May 6th at 6:15pm in Palm Springs at the house of Bob and Dolores Hope. If you weren't on the guest list, you could either follow the #LVCruise hashtag on Instagram or watch the show at the same time as the press from louisvuitton.com.
Who What Wear's takeaway for Cruise 2016: Long, flow-y dresses and skirts, killer tops and jackets, and a general absence of pants.
